Blog entry Speak Up To Rice Up
Every day, thousands of people earn grains of rice, while having fun and learning, on Freerice. The concept is simple but powerful: the more people who play, the more rice we raise, and the more people we can feed.
To help spread the word, we've put together a toolbox with fun Freerice posters, social media assets, teacher resources and more.
Below are some examples of inspired ways that Freericers share us with their communities:
- Ree Drummond is a frontier woman, a blogger and the brain behind "The Pioneer Woman". Every year around April 16, she shares us with her readers, generating an enormous amount of excitement and interest. You can read this year's post here
- Steve Matchett is a Formula One commentator and a Freericer. Every Christmas, he holds a drive to build a virtual F1 race car, by converting the weight of rice grains into parts of the car to create a complete car! You can join his group "Eff-One-Grain-At-A-Time" here
- Students, parents and staff at the Gateway PS held a Freerice marathon over the March break, for the second year in a row. Together they raised over 3 million grains and a ton of awareness about hunger. Congratulations to their winning class, the students of Mr. Wien's Grade 5! Find out more
- A conference and training centre in Scotland recently held a tournament to build team spirit and to "rice up" against hunger together. The winner was their office manager and a smart lady, Ella Gbaya. Well done Ella! Find out more
Do you have a story about an interesting way to use Freerice? Let us know in the comments below.
Freerice is maintained by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme, the world's largest humanitarian organization working to resolve the world's greatest solvable problem: hunger. Find out more about why and how to end hunger.

This is a great chance for us, as people who are more fortunate, to help out those who may be less fortunate than us. Love FreeRice :) (: !

Help!
The definition of "queen" is a king's wife. Not necessarily so, the Queen of England is married to "Prince" Philip. Just thought I'd update you.
Seniors must exercise their brain as well as their body. I do roughly 300 questions a day so that I can earn a million grains a year. It is good for my short-term memory loss suffered after doing chemo, and it helps others at the same time. It is a feel good/win-win. Thank you.
A really very much appreciable service. I really love the idea behind this superb act. I am loving ricing up. I'd love to share the word on my social communities and blogs. Thanks.
