Competitions are subject to the privacy policy and website terms and conditions of Freerice.com.

The following rules shall apply, together with any instructions or rules specific to any current competition.

By entering any of our competitions, you are deemed to have accepted the following:
Competitions are open to all Canadian schools, Freerice staff, family of Freerice staff and anyone professionally connected with the prize offered in this competition will not be considered. Freerice.com reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.

To qualify for and be entered into any of our competitions, you must create a group for your school using the following Group name structure; register your group’s name starting with the prefix: “CFRSC - name of school - school board initials” and must ensure that all group members select “play” to raise rice as part of your group.

You are responsible for recruiting and messaging competition rules to your members. Members of school groups can be students, teachers, friends of students and teachers, family of students and teachers and anyone else associated with the school. Members can play for more than one group on Freerice.

The use of bots or scripts to assist with raising rice is expressly forbidden. Use of scripts or bots will result in the disqualification of your group and banning of the group creator.

By taking part in the competition, you warrant that you are Canadian school.

It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your details and e-mail address are accurate associated with the registered school group. Freerice accepts no responsibility for any changes which are not properly notified from the time of submission of your entry to the time of notification that the prize has been awarded.

All rice raised on Freerice through your school group will go to the grand Freerice total and will be distributed as part of our global humanitarian aid programme.

Freerice reserve the right to disqualify your entry if it is incomplete, your group title does not contain the required information, or if there are reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached any of these rules.

Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. WFP’s National Ambassador Against Hunger, George Stroumboulopoulos will donate a specially designed school plaque engraved with the name of the winning school and 10 FreeRice signed t-shirts for the top donators within the winning group.

Failure to claim a prize within the time or in the manner specified may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternative winner.
Freerice.com reserves the right to alter, amend or close the competition as necessary.

In the case of any disputes regarding these rules, or the rules or instructions of a specific competition, the decision of Freerice.com will be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
